I’m an overeducated, underemployed, mid-life Mom & GrandMom–just tryin’ to keep IT real and my hair brown. ♥ I have a lot to say about a lot of things and I bet that no matter what your story is, you’ll find we have a lot in common! I’ve only been blogging for a little over a year now, but I’ve always had a strong interest in writing. I have a B.S. in Business Management, a M.A. in Human Resource Management, and am currently pursuing a second M.S. in Management of Nonprofit Agencies. I have three sons, and one brand new grandson. Until October 2011, I played an active role on the Board of Directors of a small nonprofit organization serving the needs of women and children in my community. It was a great experience that definitely added to my body of knowledge in nonprofit management and governance, and further solidified my commitment  to furthering best practices, integrity, and adherence to mission first in the nonprofit sector.

Most importantly, I care about making good use of the life I was given to make a positive impact on the world, hopefully leaving it a little better than how I found it! My fondest wish is to use words and images here in my little corner of the web to inform, to entertain, and hopefully to ultimately help other people.

My content covers a variety of topics including, but not limited to:

  • Life and All the Interesting, Funny, and Annoying Things About it That We Can All Relate To
  • The Nonprofit Sector
  • Womens’  Issues
  • Following Your Dreams
  • Entertainment
  • Spotlighting Interesting People Doing Interesting, Positive Things With Their Lives, Via My WittyBizGal Q&A E-terviews
  • Positive Perspectives

My inspiration for my blog is Reader’s Digest, which is general interest rather than narrowly focused on only one or two topic areas.  It’s sometimes informative and on the serious side, sometimes light, highly opinion based, and entertaining. If you like one of my blog postings, this doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll like them all. But that’s okay, stick around and something that interests you will probably pop up again! 🙂

I am not afraid of color–it is the real spice of life!

Robert Frost (1874–1963). Mountain Interval. 1920.

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,

And sorry I could not travel both

And be one traveler, long I stood

And looked down one as far as I could

To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,

And having perhaps the better claim,

Because it was grassy and wanted wear;

Though as for that the passing there

Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay

In leaves no step had trodden black.

Oh, I kept the first for another day!

Yet knowing how way leads on to way,

I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh

Somewhere ages and ages hence:

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I–

I took the one less traveled by,

And that has made all the difference.

The Memorial Video I made for my friend, Mark Davidson, who passed away on January 11, 2011…You may not realize it, but trust me on this one–the world is just a little less bright and friendly without him in it…
